L.A. Dodgers icon, and children’s healthcare advocate Tommy Lasorda made a special appearance at the Orthopaedic Institute for Children’s (OIC) groundbreaking ceremony for $10 million, 13,000 square foot Ambulatory Surgery Center. The new OIC Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) designed by RBB Architects will be the L.A. region’s first stand-alone facility specifically dedicated to children’s outpatient orthopaedic surgical care. With two operating rooms, and six pre- and post-surgery suites, the Center will help reduce surgery wait times for children in need of surgery. OIC is a world leader in pediatric orthopaedic care and research, and is renowned for treating the full spectrum of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.
